Mahlia has many meanings, “star of the sea”, “rebelliousness”, & “beloved" are my favorites.

I was born & raised in Oregon but I'm a Southern girl at heart. I drink my tea sweet & I say y'all like it's trending. Throughout middle school & high school, I was that kid who loved computers and website design. With that in mind, I attended Montana State University (go bobcats!) where I studied graphic design, joined the Greek system (any guess what sorority I'm in?), and discovered that it was way too freaking cold that far Northwest!

So I zipideedoodah'ed myself all the way down to the Sunshine State to defrost & work at Disney World. Where I was a tour guide at The Great Movie Ride and occasionally hijacked vehicles dressed as a 1920's gangster or launched people into space at Star Tours (yes, I do own lightsabers). My husband, Pat, and I are Disney World Sweethearts... that's right, we met & fell in love while working at the happiest place on earth (did I just hear you say awww?).

After we married we move to Nashville, TN where we currently live with our 2 cats, River & Rose. Together we launched our sister company, Ivory Door Studio, and focused on wedding photography for over a decade. I discovered that one of my favorite parts of being in the wedding industry was helping other small business owners grow their businesses through professional branding and building a strong online presence. Thus launched Mahlia Christine Creative! I am so happy to be back in my design roots!

I was a full-time, booked-out, wedding photographer for 10 years. And, while I loved it, I discovered an even greater passion for connecting and helping other business owners stand out from the competition, book dream clients, gain confidence and grow.

With a decade of real-life experience, I understand the marketing needs for creative entrepreneurs, the frustrations you may have, and your hopes and goals. I have been there too! My business background harmoniously complements my design background.

I love personality psychology type quizzes. Enneagram is popular but Myers-Briggs has always been my fav.

I am an INFJ. If you are unfamiliar with Myers-Briggs, it is a questionnaire that dives into how individuals perceive the world and make decisions based on psychological preferences.

INFJs, are considered the rarest type and value integrity, ambition, and helping others. They are creative, insightful, principled, passionate, and altruistic. Known for balancing both intuition and compassion to find a solution, INFJ's are all about head and heart. They are creative solvers for people problems and dedicate to helping find solutions to challenges.. In group settings, they are often the inspiration and vision providing clarity to a project.
